Withdraw the entire former Section 1, together with associated application notes.
The section is to be replaced by the following letter codes indicating different types of communication:
- T Telecommunication in general
- TV Television
- BC Broadcasting
- TD Data transmission
- TP Telephone
- TX Telex
- TFX Telefax
It is suggested that this is done by using the same application note as that used for telecommunication socket outlets A00109, appropriately modified so that it covers both telecommunication lines and telecommunication outlets. For the telecommunication lines this is to be connected to S00001. Add also "telecommunication line" under usage of that symbol.

FI(TAVI): I propose to add Note These letter codes are used together with graphical symbols for diagrams to give additional information. For the classification and identification of objects in documentation codes based on IEC 61346-2 table 1 and 2 should be used.
AT(WGAS): I agree to the proposal.
DE(RESC): I agree to use the normal database procedure.
CN(GUTI):I agree to the proposal.
JP(HIKE): We basically agree to the proposal. If it is appropriate at this stage, let me propose to use "TLX" instead of "TX" for telex, because "TX" is also used for transmitters together with "RX" for receivers.
DK(KATH): We agree to the proposals also saying that the comments from JP and FI make sence. Use normal database procedure.
Conclusion by the Secretary: The change request will be submitted for validation, with the addition that TLX be used for telex, and that the following text be used in the application note A109:
"Designations in accordance with relevant IEC or ISO standards, may be used to distinguish different types of connection (line) and outlet symbols:
T = Telecommunication in general
TV = Television
BC = Broadcasting
TD = Data transmission
TP = Telephone
TLX = Telex
TFX = Telefax
Note that these letters are qualifiers to the symbols only.
For the purpose of identification of a connection or outlet, the relevant letter codes in IEC 61346-2 should be applied." |
