Proposal:
Introduce the two symbols S01399 and S01400.

Reason:
This proposal is based on the processing of C00026, dealing with the introduction of a set of new symbols for Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS).

C00026 was, after the initial evaluation, handled in accordance with the Extended Procedure, including the circulation of the documents 3/587/CDV (result in 3/611/RVC), and 3/612/FDIS (result in 3/642/RVD).

Document 3/587/CDV included also the symbols listed above, but they were excluded from the voting on 3/612/FDIS. A number of NCs objected to their inclusion in IEC 60617, since they are used to indicate mechanical/constructional details. Being a matter of policy, it was brought to the attention of the meeting of TC3 in Prague in October 2002.

The committee decided that symbols for mechanical/constructional details might be included in IEC 60617 if they are related to other symbols used in electrotechnical diagrams and not already published in ISO 14617. These conditions apply for the actual symbols.

The other symbols for GIS included in the original C00026, and in 3/612/FDIS, were approved by the NCs and have been released.

General comments:

Comments at evaluation:
Taking into account the earlier processing of the proposed symbols (initial evaluation has already taken place, they have been circulated to the NCs and they have been principally discussed in TC3) and that a group of symbols for GIS now already exists in the IEC 60617 the normal database procedure can be applied, and directly continued with the validation.

Comments at validation:

The new symbols attached are ok for SC17C and TC 17. It's good to have these symbols in an IEC standard now.

Voting at validation:
AT(WGAS): Yes to symbol S01399 and S01400.

DE(RESC): In principle we support to have such symbols standardized in 60617.But for this CR we would like to draw attention to the DE-comments given with 3/611/RVC to 3/587/CDV. We -once again- suggest to change the graphic of symbol S01400 and to split symbol S01399 in two independent symbols.

JP(HIKE): Vote is YES to introduce the two symbols S01399 and S01400.

CN(GUTI): Yes to the two symbols.
