Proposal:
Introduce a symbol for circuit breaker with integrated disconnecting function (symbol S01859).

This ability is defined separately as a qualifying function (symbol S01860) understood to comply with applicable product standards for both kind of products.

Reason:
This kind of integrated device is presently available on the market and used in transmission networks.

FI(ARSI)FI NC support C00192 with following comments:

S01859: name "Disconnectable circuit breaker" should be changed to "Disconnecting circuit breaker" because this kind of circuit breaker type has two functions, (1) circuit breaking (2) disconnecting.

S01860: name "Disconnectable circuit breaker function" should be changed to "Disconnecting circuit breaker function".

Both proposed symbols need application notes for guiding users to adding suitable reference designations and choosing suitable letter codes from IEC 81346-2 letter code tables.

Usually circuit breakers are controlled by other devices or control circuits and S01859 need guidance how to present controlling function by using graphical symbols and reference designations.

AT(WGAS): AT NC agree to C00192 with following changes in the grafic illustration: The new Symboles are a combination of the Symbols S00219 and S00220 (circuit breaker and disconnector). This two Symbols should not lay one upon the other but below each other as like S00221 (switch disconnector). The horizontal line at the top and the "X" below (under).

JP(HYAM): Normal procedure should be carried. Although the proposed symbols are combination symbols, there exist several combination methods. To avoid any ambiguity, the adequate combination should be contained in the DB.

DE (RESC): DE NC agrees withthe normal database procedure. We also support both the comments given from AT and FI NC. Both comments should be considered in the final change request.

NO(ES): NO NC support the symbol S01859 with the modifications proposed by AT. The name should be as proposed by FI. However, following the proposal from AT, the symbol S01860 is not needed anymore and should not be included.

SE(TOHA): SE NC agrees with the normal procedure. We also support the comments given from NO NC.

We agree with suggested change of naming.

Symbol S01859 to be named "Disconnecting circuit breaker" and and symbol S01860 to be named "Disconnecting circuit breaker function".

Guidance for usage of suitable reference designations and letter codes from IEC 81346-2, with accept for the indicated function class, is not an issue of this standard. However, some remarks related to application of the symbols have been added.

Guidence of how to present control circuits and suggestion of suitable symbols or reference designations for control of the represented process is not a part of this standard.

Symbol S01860 is intended to represent a function which is both breaking and disconnecting in one and the same action (see note added to Symbols S01860 and S01859), therefore our meaning is that the symbol is justified.

Symbol S01859 shall be used as described if the note of S01860 is valid. In case breaking and disconnecting is actuated as separate functions in a combined device a symbol created from S00221 shall be used.
