In IEC 60617 DB there is graphical symbol S00258 for presenting emergency switch or emergency stop. But the symbol is intended to applied in Circuit diagrams, Connection diagrams, Function diagrams, Overview diagrams but not in installation diagrams. This is logical because graphics in symbol S00258 is completely different than graphics in switch symbol family S00466- S00474 for installation diagrams. Graphical presentation in symbol S00258 is complex one, it applies four different symbols S00151, S00174, S00226, S00229. So it is not trivial how to construct such an unambiguous symbol for installation diagrams.
Emergency switch is device which has very important safety purpose. Therefore this object should have internationally standardized graphical symbol also for installation diagrams.
FI NC propose to standardize a new symbol for emergency switch for document kind “Installation diagrams”. In our proposal we take symbols S00466 and S00174 and combine it to have following graphical presentation.
