Proposal:
Introduce a new symbol for combined switch: two-way single pole switch with dimmer
Reason:
In IEC 60617 DB there is no symbol for installation diagrams for presenting concept switch with dimmer function. One example for such device is device which combines functions of two-way single pole switch and dimmer. Keep in mind such a device will be installed single mounting box for switches. Combined switches are commonly used in building installation, but it is not trivial how to construct a symbol for installation diagrams for presenting device which has dimming and switching functions. Therefore this concept should have at least one internationally standardized graphical symbol suitable for installation diagrams.
FI NC propose to standardize a new symbol for combined switch with dimmer. Such a device combines functions of two-way single pole switch and dimmer. New symbol shall be used for document kind “Installation diagrams”. In our proposal we take symbol S00471 as a base and combine dimmer symbol S00473.

DE(RESC): Is it really necessary to standardize a symbol which is a simple combination of two existing standardized symbols? German NC does not support this CR.
AT(WGAS): AT NC gives the following comments: This symbol is a combination of existing symbols therefore is no need for a new symbol. What funktion has this switch? One to switch and dimm and other only to switch or all to switch and dimm ?
JP(HIKE): Support the symbol for installation diagrams.

Secretary comment: The evaluation have been closed but the validation cannot be started based on the result of the evaluation.This symbol and other symbols proposed for installation diagrams will be described in a new documement also proposing some improvements. This means that furter evaluation and validation will be related to the description as shown in a new CR.
