Comments at evaluation: |
FI(ARSI): FI NC support the proposal. Normal database procedure
AT(WGAS): AT NC supports this symbols with following modifications: The qualifying Symbols should be written
- in a circle if mounted at the ceiling
- in two concentric circles if mounted at false ceiling
- in a rectangle (quadrate) if mounted at false floor
Normal database procedure.
DE(RESC):DE NC support the proposal. Normal database procedure
SE(TOHA): SE NC support the proposal. Normal database procedure
JP(HIKE): Agrees to follow the normal database procedure.

Secretary comment: As recommended by the VT the CR will follow the normal procedure and go to validation. The modifications proposed by AT NC should be discussed in the validation.

Comments at validation: |
Secretary comment: The additional comment from AT (WGAS) was not discussed in the evaultaion, but should be recognized in the validation. As I see it, this additional information can be added in two ways:
1. by preparing different symbols for the different locations of the device
2. by preparing new symbols for the purposes, to be added to the basic symbol.
Case 1. is not covered by this CR. A new CR will be required a big number of symbols.
Case 2 my be applicable, but it will also require new symbols.
FI NC comments:
Secretary Case 1 is not practical because it require big number of variants of basic symbol
Secretary Case 2 is acceptable in principle. However IEC 61082-1 Ed. 2.0 already (see chapter 8.3) gives method to present component mounting by using letter codes adjacent to graphical symbol:
The recommended letters for mounting of components are:
H = horizontal (components mounted side by side)
V = vertical
F = flush (recessed)
S = surface
B = floor (bottom)
T = ceiling (top)
AT(WGAS) The proposal of AT NC does not produce a big number of symbols if the variations are defined in a relatet application note.
JP(HIKE): The Japanese National Committee for TC 3 (JP-NC) has concern on a procedual problem for this "Validation".
According to the rule (Validation, J.2.3, Annex J to IEC Specific Procedures), Validation voting is equivalent to FDIS voting in which no omments shall be considered. However, discussions in Validation stage are still going on. It is not apparent what kind of vote has been requested. JP-NC is puzzeld to which option it shall cast yes/no/abstain vote.
In the light of separate proposals being raised, JP-NC requests to make this change request (together with other related change requests) to work in Extended Database Procedure.
----------------------------------------------
Secretary comment: As noted by FI NC and AT NC can case 2 easily be used without creating a big number of symbols. However, the location shall not be indicated by a symbol but a letter code according to IEC 61082-1. The letter code shall be defined by an Application note. Such an Application note shall be defined by a new Change request. Accordingly the “basic” symbol can be approved according to the voting in validation.

AT(WGAS): AT NC votes YES.
DE(RESC): DE NC votes YES
JP(HIKE): JP NC votes NO, because of the above mentioned reason.
SE(TOHA): SE NC votes YES |
